B’ism Allah… Alhamdulillah, from the teachings of Mawlana Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi (QS), the reality of becoming “rashid” (guided) by the moonlight is a profound spiritual concept. The moon serves as a beautiful analogy for our spiritual journey. Just as the moon reflects the light of the sun, our goal is to reflect the light of the reality of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. This is the essence of “nurul iman” (light of faith) – to love and follow the Prophet ﷺ more than we love ourselves.

The moon’s entire focus is to follow the sun, and in doing so, it provides an essential service for us. Similarly, when we focus on the light of the Prophet ﷺ, we receive spiritual growth and sustenance. Without the moon, there would be no growth, and similarly, without the light of the Prophet ﷺ, our souls would not flourish.

In the spiritual realm, the full moons are represented by the perfected ones, the “rashideen al-Mahdiyeen.” These are the stars of guidance, and their guidance is essential for our spiritual growth. Just as the moon reflects the light of the sun, the perfected ones reflect the light of the Prophet ﷺ, guiding us on the path of righteousness.

Therefore, the reality of becoming “rashid” by the moonlight is to seek the guidance of the perfected ones, the stars of guidance, who reflect the light of the Prophet ﷺ. By following their example and guidance, we align ourselves with the divine light and embark on a journey of spiritual growth and enlightenment.

May Allah (ﷻ) grant us the understanding and ability to seek the light of the Prophet ﷺ and the guidance of the perfected ones. Ameen.
