Gul e Muhammadi (Muhammadan Rose)

To embark on this spiritual journey, one should set aside a dedicated space in their home for spiritual activities. This space should be blessed and charged with angelic light and presence. It is recommended to lay out a prayer carpet facing the Qibla, place a candle or oil lamp, and use incense or scented oil to attract positive energy. Keeping a picture of the Murshid, the Shaykh and Guide, in this space serves as a spiritual compass to align oneself and facilitate the connection to the presence and reality of the Master.

The practice begins with performing 2 raka’ Tahiyyatul Wudu, while keeping in mind the purpose and meaning of the prayer, its movements, and inner aspects. The seeker should strive to become one with the reality of the prayer, which is nothing other than the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad (S).

One should also recite the niyah (intention) as prescribed by Grandshaykh Abdullah (Q) and follow it with Shahada, istighfar, ikhlas, ihda, and Fatiha. These acts of devotion help in aligning the heart and mind with the Divine presence.

Furthermore, the daily practice (wazifa) of the Naqshbandi Tariqa, as taught by Grand Shaykh Abdullah al Faiz ad Daghestani, is essential for spiritual progress. This includes reciting the Shahada, seeking forgiveness from Allah, reciting specific chapters of the Holy Qur’an, and sending peace and blessings upon Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his family.

In addition to these practices, the seeker should engage in contemplation, vision, and reckoning, as mentioned by Mawlana Shaykh Naqshband. Contemplation involves forgetting the created and remembering only the Creator, while vision brings inspirations from the Unseen to the heart of the seeker. Reckoning involves evaluating one’s state of presence with God.

It is important to note that reaching the state of Gul e Muhammadi requires sincerity, dedication, and a deep yearning for the love of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. By following these spiritual practices with humility and perseverance, one can aspire to reach the blessed state of Gul e Muhammadi.
