Inner Munafiq and Inner Yazid

Question: Blessed Sayyidi (Q), please expand on Inner Munafiq (Hypocrite) and Inner Yazid within us ?

B’ism Allah… Alhamdulillah, from the teachings of Mawlana Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi (QS), the concept of the Inner Munafiq (Hypocrite) and inner Yazid within us is a profound and essential aspect of self-reflection and spiritual development. The understanding of the Inner Munafiq refers to the presence of hypocrisy within oneself. This is not about labeling others, but rather focusing on our own internal struggles and shortcomings.

The Inner Munafiq is the aspect of ourselves that contradicts our external display of faith and righteousness. It is the discrepancy between our outward actions and our inner beliefs and intentions. This concept emphasizes the importance of sincerity and authenticity in our faith and actions. It urges us to purify our hearts and align our inner state with our outer conduct.

Furthermore, the inner Yazid represents the tyrannical and oppressive traits within us. It symbolizes the ego’s desire for power, dominance, and control. The inner Yazid seeks to oppress the soul and lead it astray from the path of righteousness and submission to the Divine Will.

Both the Inner Munafiq and inner Yazid highlight the internal struggle between good and evil, sincerity and hypocrisy, and submission and rebellion. Recognizing and addressing these inner qualities is crucial for spiritual growth and self-purification.

It’s important to remember that self-reflection and self-awareness are key components of spiritual development. By acknowledging and addressing the Inner Munafiq and inner Yazid within us, we can strive to overcome negative traits, purify our hearts, and strengthen our connection with Allah.
