Loving the Ahlul Bayt (AS)

B’ism Allah… Alhamdulillah, from the teachings of Mawlana Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi (QS), loving the Ahlul Bayt (Family of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) is of utmost importance in the Sufi tradition. The Ahlul Bayt (as) taught us to live a life of sacrifice, as exemplified by Imam Hussain (as) and Imam Hassan (as). They taught us to live by the reality of sacrifice, not by sacrificing others, but by sacrificing our own character, property, and everything within us. Imam Hussain (as) is granted the attribute of Sifat Ar-Raheem, which dresses his character. This is a profound teaching that emphasizes the importance of sacrificing oneself to attain higher spiritual realities.

The name of Imam Hussain (as) carries the secret of ever-living (hayat) and the certainty (yaqeen), representing the carriers of the light and the reality of the secret of every light. By loving the Ahlul Bayt, we are seeking the goodness and blessings of Imam Hassan (as) and Imam Hussain (as), which in turn dresses us with divine lights and blessings.

Loving the Ahlul Bayt is a means to seek the love of Allah (AJ) and His Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is a path of perfecting one’s character and striving to be in the company of the noble souls. Through this love, we aim to be invited to the table of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, not by competing in deeds, but by embodying good character.

In essence, loving the Ahlul Bayt (AS) is a reflection of our love for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and it is a means to attain divine forgiveness, light, and blessings. May Allah grant us the ability to love the Ahlul Bayt (AS) and to embody their noble qualities. Ameen.
