Primary Love in our Lives

B’ism Allah… Alhamdulillah, from the teachings of Mawlana Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi (QS), we are reminded that the primary love in our lives must be for Allah (Azza wa Jal) and His Beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). The love of the Divine, the Rahma and Mercy of Allah (Azza wa Jal) should be the foundation of our love. This love begins to pull the seeker towards the reality of the Divine.

When the love of the Divine becomes the primary love in our lives, it clarifies within the heart to include the love of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). This calibrated and correct love becomes the compass that always moves towards the Divine Presence. Every other love is put into perspective, and we don’t try to make those loves as if they are divine.

Allah (Azza wa Jal) has not made any person with two hearts, meaning that when the heart is solid and secure with the love of Allah and His Beloved Prophet (ﷺ), we begin to understand and love everybody for who they are and what their abilities are, keeping it in its perspective.

It’s easy to love the Shaykh, but to love whom the Shaykh loves is the real test. Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, “None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children, and all mankind.” This shows that our love for the Prophet (ﷺ) should surpass all other loves.

In essence, our love should be directed towards Allah (Azza wa Jal) and His Beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), and through this love, we learn to love and respect all of creation. May Allah (ﷻ) grant us the ability to love with sincerity and purity. Ameen.
