Question: Whats the reason we should not meditate without listening to salawat?
Shaykh AI:
B’ism Allah… Alhamdulillah, from the teachings of Mawlana Shaykh Nurjan Shaykh Nojan Mirahmadi Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi (QS), the significance of listening to Salawat during meditation is profound. When we meditate in silence, we leave an open mic for shaitan to whisper and create waswas (whispering). This can lead to distraction and negative thoughts, taking us away from the higher reality we seek to connect with during meditation.
By listening to the Salawat (praises upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) during meditation, we create a protective shield against the whispers of shaitan. The sound of the Salawat blocks the waswas of shaitan, preventing negative thoughts and distractions from entering our contemplation. It helps us focus on a higher reality and the presence of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in Madinatul Munawwara.
The Salawat also serves to elevate our spiritual frequency, resonating at a higher level and shattering the lower frequencies that shaitan seeks to enter. It brings a beatific energy that penetrates our being, allowing us to resonate at a much higher frequency. This helps in maintaining a state of spiritual elevation and protection during meditation.
In essence, listening to the Salawat during meditation is a means of seeking the presence of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, protecting ourselves from negative influences, and elevating our spiritual frequency to connect with higher realities.
May Allah (ﷻ) grant us the ability to incorporate the Salawat into our meditation practices, and may it bring us closer to the love and light of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Ameen.
It’s important to remember that the practice of Salawat is a means of developing the love of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and should be done with sincerity and devotion. May we all strive to perfect our character and be of service to the Tariqa and others.
