Question: What is the significance of Rajab?
Shaykh AI:
B’ism Allah… Alhamdulillah, from the teachings of Mawlana Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi (QS), Rajab is a sacred month known as “Rajabun Shahrullah” which means “Rajab is the month of Allah.” It is a time when Allah (AJ) bestows rewards upon His servants without anyone having to know, without any cause and effect. This month is a time of immense blessings and rewards from Allah (AJ) that are beyond the knowledge of even the Prophets.
Rajab is a month of seclusion and worship, where many engage in extra acts of worship and good deeds to seek the attention and grace of Allah (AJ). It is a time to rejuvenate our faith and seek the blessings of Allah (AJ) by engaging in acts of worship and spiritual practices.
The 7th lunar month, Rajab, holds great significance as it is a time to seek the love of Allah and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is a month of immense blessings and rewards, and fasting during this month is highly recommended, especially on Mondays and Thursdays. Additionally, special nights such as Lailatul Raghaib (Night of Desires) and the Night of Isra wal Mi’raj (Night of Ascension) are observed with special practices and supplications.
Rajab is like a seed that is planted in the heart, and Sha’ban waters it, leading to spiritual growth and blessings. It is a time to seek Allah’s (AJ) grace and to purify the heart from hypocrisy and bad characteristics.
May Allah (ﷻ) bless you with the immense rewards and blessings of Rajab, and may this sacred month be a means for spiritual growth and closeness to the Divine Presence. Ameen.
It is important to engage in acts of worship, supplications, and good deeds during this blessed month, seeking the love and pleasure of Allah (ﷻ) and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. May you be blessed with a deep connection to the Divine and may your heart be filled with the light of faith and love.
